New Tricks 老狗也會玩新把戲

You can't teach an old dog new tricks.是大家耳熟能詳的俗諺。

大抵是形容一個人年紀大了，學習能力降低，所知所會的僅限於以前所
學習到的，已經很難再接納新事物，因此像一隻老狗一樣"變"不出什麼新把戲來。
當然這句貶低意味很重的話，卻是蠻接近事實，因為人的學習能力在年輕時的確比較強。

老爺子很喜歡一部英國影集原名就叫 New Tricks.
老狗真的變不出新把戲嗎?那也不見得喔! 這齣除了英國當地顯少有他國的人知道的影集為何如此讓老爺著迷，每年新一季推出還特地請家人遠從英國寄來收藏近十年所有的DVD隨時在家可看，連我也喜歡這四位年過半百的主角常陪著一起觀賞，有請老爺介紹一下便知:

I collect the thoroughly enjoyable BBC TV series “New Tricks”. 
The show gives the detective genre a real fresh, funny and

original twist and is packed with little gems of humor.

New Tricks is about a special unit in the London Police force that hires
retired detectives to try to solve cases that have been unsolved for
many years, using modern technology with their old style of policing.
Detective Inspector Sandra Pullman (played by Amanda Redman) is
the police officer, who is in charge of the unit.

I really like the show as it not only has great detective stories, the
relationships between the retired detectives, is also very humorous,
with them often cracking jokes about each others age.

The main cast, Amanda Redman, Dennis waterman, James Bolan and

Alun Armstrong, are all veteran British actors, who give great character
acting performances throughout each episode.   

The series title is taken from the popular expression “You can’t teach an

old dog new tricks”. The “old dogs” are successful in adapting their skills
and experience to modern policing, with their knowledge of past cases
proving especially useful.
